Gill 'M-Series' fluid level sensors are custom designed to your exact requirements to ensure suitability within your application. Each sensor integrates our advanced micro-electronics platform (typically located in the sensor head) with a bespoke mechanical construction.

M-Series custom fluid level sensors are particularly suited to specialist applications with very small mounting space envelopes, unique mounting arrangements, very low unit weight requirements or which are subject to extreme operating conditions.

We have expertise in both rapid-turnaround small-batch production and high volume manufacture for OEM applications. Our level sensor design engineers work closely with customers to ensure the final product is mechanically and technically suitable for the application and operating conditions, ensuring the final product provides optimum performance and reliability.

In addition to designs for new application developments we can design drop-in replacements for obsolete or unreliable parts used in existing installations.

Gill offers two ranges of liquid level gauge – S1 and S2. Both types of liquid level gauge have been designed for use with a Gill Sensors Liquid Level Sensor, accurately displaying the 0-5V analogue sensor output on the 29 super-bright LEDs.


The S1 liquid level gauge is suitable for a wide range of applications and installations, with the 29 LED display configured in a linear fashion against the 0-5V input from the sensor. The level gauge features a configurable low level alarm, which appears on the seven segment display at a pre-determined point. The display also features a light sensor, which automatically dims the LED display in darkness, reducing glare. The S1 liquid level gauge is very well suited to regular, consistent tank shapes.

The S2 display gauge features the same light-sensitive auto-dimming and low level alarm as the S1 display gauge, with the addition of a real-time numerical depth display and full user-configurable control over the display of the 29 super-bright LEDs. S2 liquid level gauges are very well suited to applications with irregular tank shapes, displaying the liquid volume rather than the physical level remaining.

The R-Series Stainless-steel Liquid Level Sensor is designed specifically for use with aggressive or corrosive liquids including salt water, coolant, acids and chemical-based liquids.

The sensor features an SAE 5-bolt mounting pattern and is manufactured to your custom length requirement up to 500mm (for longer sensor requirements please visit the Rxl Stainless-Steel Liquid Level Sensor page).
The sensor provides a fully-configurable 0-5V analogue output, which is typically calibrated 0.25V empty, 4.75V full. Each sensor is factory calibrated in your liquid type (or equivalent).

With a wide operating temperature range of -40°C to +125°C, the R-Series Stainless-steel liquid level sensor is well-suited to a variety of industrial, military, motorsport and automotive applications.

Capacitive level sensor for measurement of corrosive fluids in large tanks, featuring a heavy-duty SAE 5-bolt mount and manufactured to the required length.

The Rxl stainless-steel liquid level sensor is available up to 1500mm long, designed specifically for applications where monitoring of corrosive fluids (water, coolant, salt water, chemicals) is required, or where specific materials compatibility standards must be met (typical within medical and food processing industries).

The sensor features the same standard SAE 5-bolt mounting pattern as the shorter R-Series stainless-steel liquid level sensor, with additional mechanical strengthening features on the underside of the flange to support the longer sensor probe length.
The sensor utilises capacitive technology, with fully integrated electronics that provide a fully configurable 0-5V analogue output over the calibrated sensing range. Each sensor is factory calibrated in the specified liquid type (or equivalent).

The Gill standard liquid level switch is a compact, lightweight design with integrated electronics. The switch can be fully submersed in fuel or oil and features two mounting holes for simple installation.

The switched 0-5V analogue output is fully configurable over the measurement range and can be set to switch at any point over the 25mm probe length. As standard, this liquid level switch is factory calibrated to switch from 4.5V to 0.5V at 13.5mm from the tip of the sensor.
The sensor can be mounted in any orientation in the tank and features a face-mounted flying lead to simplify installation.

The sensors feature fully integrated electronics; with constructions typically designed for operation from -40ºC to +125ºC. Some designs allow for on-board liquid temperature measurement, with a thermistor mounted within the sensor probe.

Gill liquid level switches can be designed for full submersion in fuel and oil and are well suited to applications subject to harsh operating conditions.

The R-Series liquid level sensor features an SAE 5-bolt mount and is manufactured to your length requirement.


The sensor provides a continuous 0-5V analogue output (typically calibrated 0.25V empty, 4.75V full) and is compatible with most liquid types including fuels, oils and aggressive alcohol-based fuels.
All of the sensor's processing electronics are located within the sensor head - no additional remotely-mounted electronics are required. With a robust anodized aluminium main body construction and titanium inner-rod assembly, the sensor is well suited to harsh environment applications and has a wide operating temperature range from -40°C to +125°C.

The sensor is available from 50mm to 500mm long and, with each sensor factory-built to the required length and calibrated in the appropriate liquid type, no mechanical adjustment or configuration by the user is required prior to installation. Longer length sensors, which feature extra mechanical strengthening features, are available for deeper tanks up to 1.5m, and a stainless-steel variant is also available for water-based applications.

The Rxl liquid level sensor features a heavy-duty SAE 5-bolt flange mount, with extra mechanical strengthening features to support longer sensor lengths.

The Rxl sensor is available from 80mm to 1500mm long and is constructed from aluminium. The sensor features fully-integrated electronics, providing a configurable 0-5V analogue output over the calibrated sensing range.
